It can power multiple displays at 4K, but only at 30Hz. Asus notes that the card supports resolutions of 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, but only for one monitor.

The biggest change to the card is that it now comes with four HDMI video outputs, rather than the original single DVI, VGA, and HDMI ports.

Interestingly, we heard earlier this month that Nvidia's GTX 1650 graphics cards are transitioning to GDDR6 due to the “industry running out of GDDR5,” so it’s unclear if this might affect the new GT710 down the line. Some improvements to the GT710 include the memory going from 1GB/2GB of DDR3 to 2GB of GDDR5. Like the original, it features a mere 192 CUDA cores on the 87 mm2 GK208 Kepler die from 2015, and the GPU engine clock remains at 954 MHz while the memory clock is 5012 MHz. The new GT710 has appeared on Asus’ website. Now, a redesigned version has arrived, and this time it comes with four 4K-capable HDMI ports. The card was a budget offering when launched back in 2016, costing around $35 for the 1GB option and $40 for the 2GB model. Will check out the support faq you included, but too late now I guess- my new card is already purchased and should be arriving today! Thanks for your suggestion though.Įdited by sovreer, 03 September 2020 - 03:20 PM.Why it matters: Do you remember Nvidia’s GeForce GT710? Probably not. I checked all the settings but never got an option for higher than 30hz.

Itsdigger, I have a 380 not a 390 - the problem seems to be that the radeon 380 cannot do 60hz because it's not HDMI 2 but HDMI 1.4. Hopefully the 570 is superior enough to the 550 to be worth the extra cash!

Madman, that is a great price for that card - I definitely would have snapped it up had I not already placed an order.Īfter watching a video where I saw the Radeon RX 570 demolishing the GX 1050 ti in gameplay, I decided to order an RX 570, despite the fact I swore never to get an AMD card again, because their drivers have caused me no end of headaches for years! lol.Īnyway, I picked up the RX 570 from newegg for about $150- $50 more than the 550 you linked me to above. Moved from Internal Hardware to Bldg/Upgrading - Hamluis. Thanks!Įdited by hamluis, 31 August 2020 - 09:53 AM. Would appreciate any input as to whether this would be a good card for an upgrade, or if not, any alternative suggestions. I do do some gaming sometimes, but mainly rpg and rts - no super intensive 3d shooter type games. I'm wondering if the Geforce 1050 ti should be sufficient for getting good performance using this tv? My graphics needs are mainly for video. Rather than shell out $30 bucks for an adapter I'll have no future use for, I feel like I might as well just buy a new video card.

I'm assuming this is because this video card is HDMI 1.4 not 2.0 and so the TV is unable to perform at 60hz.įrom what I have read so far it seems the only DP adapter that will work with this card is the Club 3D adapter which costs $30 bucks. I get lag when typing, and other basic tasks also.

I am still using Windows 7 and switched to aero which although I don't like it, has helped a bit with the screen tearing, but overall my experience is suboptimal. Since switching to the TV everything just seems to lag generally, and I am getting especially bad lag + screen tearing and other visual annoyances in video playback. I am now using a TCL 43" 4k TV as my monitor, with an AMD Radeon R9 380.
